9th Recent Advances in Neonatal Medicine, Würzburg, Germany

April 26 - 28, 2020
Würzburg, Germany

Dear colleagues, dear ladies and gentlemen,

It is a great pleasure to invite you to the IXth International Symposium RECENT ADVANCES IN NEONATAL MEDICINE 2020 which is dedicated to my admired academic mentor Prof. Richard B. Johnston Jr., MD, Denver, USA. His basic research focused on the development of innate immunity and host defense mechanisms;  as Medical Director of “March of Dimes” he was instrumental in reducing birth defects with folic acid, and, moreover, he established a huge program into the causes of preterm labor.

In the year 1996, I organized the first symposium in Tübingen, Germany and subsequent symposia in Würzburg at three-yearly intervals. My initial idea was to bring the most prominent international neonatologists and scientists as well as practicing clinicians from all parts of the world together and to critically define up to date knowledge in neonatal medicine and to identify gaps in basic and clinical research; this concept has become reality.

By now, RECENT ADVANCES IN NEONATAL MEDICINE is one of the most respected and largest scientific and educational conferences outside the United States of America. Certainly, it’s success does not only depend on the selection of relevant topics but also on extremely dedicated speakers and chairmen who share their tremendous expertise and knowledge with a highly perceptive and sophisticated audience during workshops, poster walks, the symposium and the multiple breaks.

Indeed, this academic forum has a unique feature: it is characterized by a warm and relaxed atmosphere of mutual understanding, intellectual and friendly exchange which has been certified by an extraordinarily positive rating and comments of numerous delegates.

I would like to thank all faculty members for their great personal support and, moreover, to express my sincere gratitude to the generous sponsors of RECENT ADVANCES IN NEONATAL MEDICINE 2020; without their essential help it would have been impossible to invite such a prominent faculty, to offer reduced registration fees for delegates from low- and middle-income countries and to realize this ambitious project.

I very much hope that you can join us at RECENT ADVANCES IN NEONATAL MEDICINE 2020!

With best regards,

Christian P. Speer
